Storms of 1996

In 1996 the area was hit by two historiacal stroms. One in Jaunuary, which followed a record snowfall of nearly 4 feet. A few days after the snowfall a thunderstorm brought warm heavy rains. This resulted in a 100 year flood. The second storm came On September 6th, Hurricane "Fran". This flood was also dubbed a 100 year flood. As one local put it "I'm getting tired of these hundred year floods". This flood took out both ponds and did exstinsive damage to the river crossing.
